Website Redesign Proposal
Presented by: Shazam Digital
Client: Nextgen Accountants
Date:
Introduction
I understand the importance of creating a website that reflects professionalism while remaining approachable and engaging. The goal is to position Nextgen Accountants as a caring, relatable team that clients feel comfortable reaching out to, while also showcasing the expertise and humour that sets the business apart. This proposal outlines the scope of work, timeline, and costs for redesigning your website.
Scope of Work
After reviewing your current website, I have identified two potential options for the redesign. Both options will ensure an improved user experience, mobile responsiveness, and a fresh new look. However, each option comes with different considerations regarding cost, ease of transition, and future maintenance. I want to present these choices to help you determine the best fit for your business needs and budget.
Option 1: Refreshing your existing WordPress website
Option 2: Building a completely new website on Wix
The best choice depends on factors such as the level of customisation you need, how much control you want over future updates, and whether a lower-cost, low-maintenance option is preferable.
Option 1: WordPress Refresh
Work Involved:
-
Updating the existing site structure while retaining the WordPress platform.
-
Refreshing the design, improving mobile responsiveness, and updating text and images.
-
Optimizing site speed and performance.
-
Ensuring plugin compatibility and security updates.
-
Retaining any existing SEO efforts and data.
Option 2: Wix Rebuild
Work Involved:
-
Building a new website from scratch using Wix.
-
Designing a clean, modern layout with user-friendly navigation.
-
Simplifying future updates with an easy-to-use editor.
-
Hosting and security included (no need for separate hosting or plugin updates).
-
Fully mobile-optimized from the start.
-
Seamless transfer to your control if desired.
Comparison: Pros & Cons of Each Option
WordPress Refresh
Pros:
✅ Full control over customisation with themes and plugins.
✅ Ability to retain current SEO efforts and rankings.
✅ Scalable for future integrations and advanced features.
✅ Established platform with a large support community
Cons:
❌ Requires ongoing plugin updates, hosting, and security management.
❌ Customisation may require coding knowledge or additional plugins.
❌ Potential compatibility issues with plugins, requiring troubleshooting.
❌ Longer development time due to complexity.
❌ Higher ongoing maintenance costs.
Wix Rebuild
Pros:
✅ Simple, drag-and-drop customisation without plugin dependency.
✅ All-in-one solution with hosting, security, and backups included.
✅ Easy for the Nextgen team to update content without technical knowledge.
✅ Faster build time, allowing for quicker website launch.
✅ Cost-effective with no need for additional third-party tools.
✅ Built-in SEO tools for optimizing search visibility.
Cons:
❌ Less third-party integration support compared to WordPress.
❌ Custom coding is limited compared to WordPress’s flexibility.
❌ Design structure follows Wix’s framework, meaning some advanced customisations may not be possible.
❌ Migration to another platform in the future may be more challenging.
Which is the Better Option?
If you’re looking for an efficient, low-maintenance, and cost-effective solution, Wix is the best choice. It offers a professional, modern website that’s easy for you to manage. On the other hand, if you want to stay on WordPress and retain full customisation, we can proceed with the refresh. I wanted to provide this alternative option because I genuinely believe Wix could be a more practical and cost-effective solution for your business, saving you time and effort while still achieving an excellent result.
Timeline
The estimated timeline for the redesign will depend on the option you choose:
WordPress Refresh: 4–6 weeks.
Wix Rebuild: 3–4 weeks (can start immediately).
Cost
WordPress Refresh: $3,000
Wix Rebuild: $2,000
This cost includes planning, design, development, and testing to ensure a high-quality, professional website.

Mockup Preview: A Vision for Your New Homepage
This isn't exactly what it would look like and I have mixed up some fonts and colours to give you an idea of what looks better. The final product would all be streamlined to have the same font, colours and interactions. I have also used AI images for examples. The buttons won't take you anywhere, but you can see how the About Us section is interactive with the hover, the testimonials you can move through and the logos will slide through themselves.
